“It’s like a club; you’re initiated, you get a tattoo, it is not going away.” That’s how comedian Rosie O’Donnell describes, in a new documentary, the lasting impact of her mother’s death when she was not yet 11.
“The (Dead Mothers) Club” centers on three women who lost their respective mothers as teenagers. The film is inspired by Hope Edelman’s bestselling book “Motherless Daughters,” according to HBO. Here’s the synopsis on the documentary’s official website:
The film reveals how coming of age without their mothers has and continues to play a role in their lives.
